  1. I would only leave at 6am. Any idea who the other hubbers are? Let me know if you are keen to ride in one day. It's better than traffic
  2. Hello Hubbers, Does anyone ride from Table View through to town or Sea Point every day as a commute to work? I have biked to work a couple of times but would like to do it more regularly but not on my own. If you commute that way every day then please let me know
  3. Thanks for the advice everyone. I have tried to install a basic computer on my bike before and failed which is why I would leave it up to the experts. Thanks to everyone who said I can do it myself. Don't you think I would have tried already?
  4. Hello Hubbers, I have just purchased a new Polar CS400 from BikeInn thinking that I would save myself some money. I took it in to my LBS this morning hoping that they would be able to install it on my bike but they only deal with Suunto. Does anyone know of a LBS in Cape Town who would put the Polar on my bike? I would rather have someone do it properly for me. Are there any bike shops out there that would do this for you if you didn't buy the polar from their store? Any advice would be great. Thanks Woolie
  5. I agree that your seat can get lower over time. Nothing else has changed on my bike. If anything my core muscles have gotten stronger with pilates classes. Weird thing is that I took a week off the bike and rested it. I did a 5km walk and then it started hurting again. The Burger doesn't look like it will happen for me on Sunday.
  6. Thanks Covie. This is the method that I have tried and have been comfortable on my bike for the last 12 months. Now I seem to be having problems which is why I have decided that it may be best to have it done by professionals.
  7. I just spoke to my LBS and they said doing a proper bike setup so close to a race is a bad idea. You need more than a couple of days to get used to the new set up. I called Cyclelab in Northgate island who are not my LBS and they did not mention this. Any advice?
  8. Thanks I will either give this a try or pop into my LBS to get it sorted out properly.
  9. Thanks Cassie. Last time I upped it by 1cm and the knee got worse but I do think I should cough up and spend the money for a proper bike set up.
  10. Hi Hubbers, I am having knee problems specifically around the patella. Is this to do with the height of my saddle? Could my saddle be to low? I tried moving it up by half a cm and it helped but still a bit painful. Any advice would be great as I really want to ride the Burger on Sunday. Thanks
  11. Thanks for the advice everyone. I will take a look at all the options. Scotty, do you know any LBS that stock the Delhi blackburn?
  12. Hi Hubbers, I need some advice on heart rate and cadence monitors. I currently have a simple computer that tells me my distance, max speed, min speed and avg and think that it's time to upgrade to a computer that includes cadence and heart rate monitor. What else is out there besides the Polars and Garmins? Is there anything that one can buy for R1K? I have tried doing some research but don't really know what I should be looking for. I live in Cape Town so if anyone can give me a great place to go and look at computers that would be great. Thanks in advance.
  13. Hi David, Yes I am still riding when I get a chance. On leave at the moment and have been away. Will probably get back into the swing of things in the New Year. See you on the weekend club rides. Amanda
  14. Hi, David. seemed to have missed this announcement some where. What routes are you doing in the mornings? You planning on training over the festive period?
