First of all woman cycling in europe is huge ... Average dutch/englis/italian/spanish people know the names of the woman cyclist and some of the teams racing in their country. I don't know why in South Africa know one knows who is the top ladies overseas ...???? Second of all, the woman cyclist in South Africa is racing the same distance as the girls are racing in europe. I know their is a huge difference in the standard of racing but if you go and look at the pro mens racing in south africa. THEY ARE RACING HALF THE DISTANCE they would be racing if they raced in europe!!!!!! And then their standard is also lacking far behind the pro's even continental teams racing in europe!!! You can say its unfair, but a man and a woman body is developed different, thus its ridiculous to state that the girls must race against the boys for price money ... what an upsurd of thinking to be honest!!! You also can't expect to get race entries for free ... we also use the road, and need a com, etc. That is why there is sponsors, I know it is difficult times at the moment, but SA cycling must be there to help girls who have the talent to go overseas and race there. Most top european girls get paid by their country, thus sponsors not having to pay such huge salaries... reward the girls that wants to race ... and help them.
