  1. Hi. I  recently had a set of Kenda Karma tyres fitted. After about 2 weeks the bike was standing in my spare room when at 3 am the rear tyre exploded. Cleaning Stans Sealant from walls floors and ceilings at 3 am is not my idea of fun. Anyway took the bike in and the shop recieved immediate permission to replace the tyre by the suppliers. They also appologised and said that there has been a problem with the tyres. Anyway two weeks later and straight after a ride the sidewall of the front tyre collapsed. It just blew this massive balloon out of the side wall. Right so back to the bike shop we go. Call the suppliers and they tell the bike shop to replace the tyre they also confirm that the problem tyres are sorted and the tyres at the bike shop are 100%. On Friday 80 km into a 120km training ride I have a spectacular failure of the rear tyre. Big sidewall failure. Im 40km from home on some gravel road and my wife has to fetch me. It resulted in my having to carry my bike for 5 km to a recognisable tar road otherwise my wife would never have found me. Bottom line is Im fitting other tyres today. Have any other hubbers had such negative experience with Kenda?

  3. I live in Bloemfontein, there are 4 recognised cycle shops. These shops kill us. An example is a SRAM deraileur  at our shops it costs R 2699.00. The same deraileur at Solomons costs R 1699.00. I mean this is totally ridiculous. A R1000 difference in price, it doesnt help you negotiate with the other shops they all charge the same. This sucks in my opinion.

  4. I until recently had an ultimate cool saddle on my MTB. The thing was so light it made a helium baloon feel heavy. But it all comes with a price, it started chowing by ass on longer rides. Then I saw the light and fitted a FIZIK GOBI, man this is it, I even want to sit on it and watch TV. Here is the question I would like to ask from other hubbers.

IN YOUR OPINION WHAT IS THE BEST MTB SADDLE AVAILABLE?
  5. The guy who hit the cyclists claims the sun was in his eyes and thus he could not see them. Funny then that he would overtake a truck when he obviously would not be able to see oncoming vehicles either. I hear he is out on R 500 bail. Lekker place this country, if you are a black oke blame apartheid if you kill a cyclist blame the sun. Face up to the music big boy, you are now a murderer.

  6. Please stop. Im getting flash backs. Had a similar experience, I just remember the last 3 km and feeling as if it was 30km. I think a person can only claim to have bonked when you feel like this. Hopefully never ever again.
