Serious scammer.Standard response and wants to send the bike off to every one after payment has been made! Watch out everyone!!

  2. Drop the rear tyre pressure a bit. That makes a huge difference on a hard tail. Also helps with grip in the technical stuff. Just my 2c worth, it is what I do. Cheers

  3. Hi Guys

I went for a ride yesterday on the Welvanpas Trail with some mates. Welvanpas is just outside Wellington.

I thought that there may be people out there in Cape Town that want to see new places. This trail has been around for a while but it has been changed and increased and inproved since the last time we were there.

The trail is awesome and technical for those of you that need a bit of a change from Tokai, you will love it. There are three loops, 14km, 17km and 29km. Don't be fooled and think short is easy though. Most of the route is single track, so be aware! It is well sign posted and a good work out.

I have attached the 29km loop's with elivation from my Garmin with 924m climbing. Cost is R30 per rider and is well worth it!

To the guys that put it together, well done! We loved the ride and the scenic ride.

Support the trail and have fun!

  4. :cursing: What this idiot does not understand is that the roads belong to the people that own them and pay for them, the cyclests are those people too. What an oppinionated right a$$h0le!!Miserable little whimp that needs to experience life. There is more to life than sitting and writting crap for some unknown virtual newspaper. Respond to that a$$hole!!
  5. Being new to cycling, i still wonder at it when people cut across the road KNOWING there are goodness knows how many other riders behind them. Heck i even saw this on the 94.7 TV coverage. Someone just pulled out to the left with about 20 odd riders behind him/her. Even me being new to this, i have the savvy to know this is just dangerous and stupid.

Even at the 10km MTB ride, some beast kid came past me on my right so close that he almost clipped me. Wait, in fact that happened a number of times, but this kid in particular had the nerve to blame me when in fact he gave no indication he was coming up past my right only to cut straight across to the left in front of me.

    Hi BGS,

The reason you probably almost got nocked over is because in MTBing you ride on the left so faster riders can pass you on the right. Very important and simple rule. More people need to consider other people on the trail. I'm by no means a pro but it is *&%^&% irritating if guys who are slow ride on the right hand side of the trail.

  6. Hi own a second hand Cube LTD for a year and it has been top. She has been dealt some tough conditions and just keeps going with out a hassle, downhill and cross country. I have also noticed that the new Cubes have some nice components too and are good value for money. Google them and you will not find not a bad word on Cube. Sorry to the Merida supporters.

    Cheers and good luck!

  7. I agree with Eldron: Respect each other on the trail, that is why we mountain bike. Polite, friendly and have fun! Uphill has right of way but sometimes it is better to let the down hiller past and vis versa. If this is too complex you may be more suited to road riding.

Bottom like respect and have fun!! :D

  8. This was my first Argus.  Lived in Cape Town most of my life but was always a bit scared of the numbers of participants.

I must say it was awesome to see how well the event is played out. The organising that went into this event is amaizing.  And of course the people who came to support the riders. Will definately be there next year!
