I am currently canvasing everyone. Some of the 2010 bikes are going to be out soon too and from what I hear they are similarly priced and in some instances cheaper then the 2009 stuff.

These are the wise words I need to hear. Has anyone out there bought a bike online?

Sound advice. But backup aside if you could get a bike at half price and your import tax was 15% from US (reliable source) wouldn't it be worth it? Still worth investigating.

Ja that is my initial feeling. If on the other hand there is someone out there who was brave enough to deal with them and had a good experience I'd be keen to know.

I have come accross an add in various classifieds for a bike distributor called:- "MY BIKE PLACE ltd" - Google "Mybikeplace Trek 2009" to see the add. The advert lists many bikes and their prices in US dollars. The distributor claims to be registered in the UK and will UPS your bike to you. Their prices seem too good to be true. New Trek Fuel EX9 2009 for $1900. My question is to everyone who cares to enlighten me. Has anyone bought a bike through " MYBIKEPLACE"? What was your experience with them? Alternatively have you bought a bike, internationally, over the web and do you have any advice?
