Event Name: Spur Schools MTB League: Western Cape #4 When: 17 September 2016 Where: Paul Roos Gymnasium, Stellenbosch, Western Cape Category: MTB The Spur Schools League was developed as a national initiative to enhance the profile of mountain biking, and cycling in general, within the school sports structure. By creating a national platform, we are enhancing the credibility and relevance of the sport in a structure dominated by the mainstream sports like cricket, rugby, soccer and netball. Top schools are already recognising the sport and are awarding colours to learners who excel while many are activating school teams and programs. The League is open to all scholars between the ages of 7 – 18 who are interested in riding in a lap format competition. Although taken seriously by many, our main aim is to encourage more kids on bikes. School teams as well as individuals are welcome to enter. All rider points will automatically be allocated.
