  1. The start of Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung's first ever grand tour could not have gone any better. While Movistar came home fastest to win the stage and Cannondale and Orica-Greenedge were 2nd and 3rd respectively, Team MTN-Qhubeka blitzed home just 29 seconds down in 12th position.   2. The 2nd stage of the Vuelta a Espana saw a bunch sprint decide the outcome in San Fernando with Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ.fr) claiming the first road stage victory. The tough and technical finish saw John Degenkolb (Giant-Shimano) cross the line in 2nd with Roberto Ferrari (Lampre-Merida) taking the final podium spot.
