  1. Dirtdax (Audax + Dirt) being held on 27 August starting in Harties. Who is thinking of taking part?
  2. Hi all, I am very keen to partake in this event in December. Having read up on the rules of Audax a bit, I get the feeling that it's a race within a race. The official rules state that this is not a race, and that the "maximum" allowed average speed is 30km/h. Why would you want to go faster? How do they penalise you if you arrive at an average of 32km/h? Any tips for my first Audax? Thanks all hyper milers!
  3. So there 14 South Africans riding PBP this year, which started last night. These are their frame numbers which you can use on the tracking site: http://suivi.paris-brest-paris.org/index.php Barry Shaw N015 Ernst Engelbrecht S020 Gerhard van Noordwyk M017 Gerrit Pretorious T024 Gerrit Visser E012 Gideon Krige S021 Henk Venter B239 Kenneth Wilson G278 Nico Coetzee M016 Peter Muller R022 Rob Walker R023 Salim Sjaikjee J049 Thys Erasmus E013 Wimpie van der Merwe D006 I hope all the best for those riding.
  4. I think I see the first two finishers for our first PBP2015 prequalifier... those guys were low flying. I'm firing off a tweet now and then on an account that gets used pretty much just for this purpose: https://twitter.com/capetowntracks Just so you can see what you missed - minus the stiffish breeze, of course... Next up: 300 km from Vrede Wines, Stellenbosch, October 11th. More details at http://audaxsa.co.za/cape-town-entries-open/
