  1. Set in a commanding position on Polkadraai next to the strawberry farm, overlooking the ocean and vineyards of Stellenbosch, with the completion of phase ll this will be one of the biggest and most comprehensive family-friendly bike parks in the Western Cape. In collaboration with Trail-Blazers and Michard Meets over 2kms of flow trail, fun lines, jump lines, rollers and a technical skills zone have been added to the already comprehensive offering (pump, track, skills and flow trails and small kids trail). The new addition is expected to open by 1st October, day permits cost R70 per rider, and is free to Bottelary Hills Mtb Annual permit holders for 2022. Now taking bookings for Bike parties. Find us on Facebook and Instagram @Polkadraai Bike Park.
  2. Hi All - Tried looking through the forums but didn't find what I was looking for so I'm hoping you all can give some input from personal experience. I'm getting back into the gravity side of riding as not excited by doing 50km of jeep track just for the sake of riding. I'm looking to get my confidence up and enjoy a day out cruising down hills and trails. I used to do a lot of this kind of riding so I'm prepared to put myself out there a little, but just not ready for 20 foot gaps and 3 meter drops if you know what I mean... Places I've heard are good: Thaba Red Barn Van Gaalens Cheers, Balt.
  3. Hi I'm new into road cycling and just got myself a road bike. Looking for a group to join from Southern Suburbs specifically Rondebosch East area wanting to be ready for the CTCT. Thanks guys
  4. Hi Guys, Need some advise. My wife and I have been cycling for about 18 months. We are not serious cyclists and time in the saddle is limited due to work and family responsibilities (Kids). We do mostly spinning during the week and try and do 1 or two mount-bike events a month. We entered the Argus this year and have to admit were a bit relieved when the distance was reduced but also a bit disappointed. During our training we cycled a few popular training routes (between Somerset west and Stellenbosch and up towards Franschoek ) and couldn't help noticing how much faster the road bikes seem to be going than the MTB. OK I admit we are green when it comes to cycling but it just seems so much easier. Now 2 questions: 1. Would it be worth while investing in a road bike for next year Argus ( and a few built up race ). 2. What would be a good value road bike for me and my wife - considering our level of experience. I just want to make things easier. I hate swaarkry! Thanks
