  1. What compatible brake pads can I use for a Shimano mt520 (front & rear). It seems as Shimano brake pads are not readily available. Thanks, Martin
  2. Help please! I bought an M8000 XT brakeset that came with Shimano finned resin pads. They worked perfectly and I really liked them. I never rode in the rain and only commuted short distances. After about two weeks, the rear pads are squealing like crazy and not stopping me at all. I have to pull down really hard on the brake lever, and even then I can't get the rear wheel to lock and slide. The front still works well. I really don't see how the rear pads could have been contaminated because the rotors were brand new and fitted with the brakeset. Obviously contamination can happen so easily though. Does anyone have experience with these resin pads and know how I might repair them? Also, if I can't fix them, would you recommend a metal pad replacement (finned shimano)?
  3. Hi guys, I need to buy replacement pads for my XT brakeset. Can anyone recommend a durable metal or sintered set? From what I can see, CWC has the genuine metal pads with cooling fins for R399 and a couple of other cheaper options: RESPONSE SINTERED DISC PADS (XT/XTR) R170 RESPONSE SEMI METAL DISC PADS (XT/XTR) R170 SHIMANO XTR 980 DISC PADS METAL (G04TI) R299 Does anyone have experience with these or could you recommend another option? I'm not even certain whether the cheaper two sets above fit the M8000 calipers. Thanks for your help
  4. Hey guys, I have a beginner question and it relates to a solution suggested by Hubbers on a similar forum: One of the front caliper pistons is sticking out very slightly and making it impossible to slide the rotor in without serious drag. It's obviously a tight fit to begin with but I had no problem when changing my rear pads. It was tight but with fiddling I got it right. Many have suggested letting a few drops of the mineral oil out to get the piston out of the way. Perhaps it was bled without a bleed block or something. Anyway, just looking for a few steps to follow to be able to try this solution without screwing my brakes up or getting an air bubble in. Thanks for your help!
  5. Hi, I am in the market for a new set of brakes and found these that piqued my interest: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/clarks-m2-hydraulic-disc-brakeset-bundle/rp-prod135593. From the reviews that I've read, it seems that the standard disc pad that ship with the unit tend to work away quite quickly. I need to get additional brake pads for suture use. Any idea what the recommended pads are for replacing the stock brake pads? Thanks.
  6. I've currently got Shimano M395 disc brakes with Shimano B01S resin brake pads. Where will I be able online to buy a set of the brake pads, I have tried BUYCYCLE, EasyBike and Cyclelab's online shop but I can't find it on any of them. Or is there maybe a different type of resin brake pads that I can replace it with?
  7. has anyone location of competitive prices for magura brake pads
