Hi there anyone imported a full bicycle recently? Would like to know import duties VAT etc. Who does full bicycle courier? Info would really be appreciated.

Hey guys, I'm wanting to purchase a set of MTB skewers that amounts to 71,89 € or R1060 (Attached: includes shipping but no VAT). I've done some reading and am still a really confused about how to calculate the final full amount due. Can anyone just give me a rough expectation or worst case scenario cost for a purchase like this? Thanks for any assistance!

Hi guys I'm selling my Yeti frame on the Hub and have a very interested buyer from Switzerland. I'd like some advice on shipping, how to do the payment etc and more or less how much it could cost. Has anyone done something similar before? Are there any customs clearance fees or something payable by me? Shipping would happen via slowmail. Any input or advice will be appreciated, the guy really seems keen on the frame and he seems legit. Thanks

Hi All, We are looking to export kit to the UK and Holland, nothing big probably just 8 sets of kit to each country. Does anybody know the answers to the following: Best service to use to get these packages there? The import duties on clothing from SA to EU? Do not want the okes on the other side to get a massive shock. If they pay EU VAT do we still have to pay SA VAT when buying the kit? Thanks okes on the hub!

Hi All, Yesterday I got my SRAM goodies bought from CRC. Why am I posting? Well I bought these goodies after CRC stopped listing SRAM products for buyers from SA. So I thought I will tell you how I did it (NOTE: I do not know if they since corrected it) It was purely accidental. I was logged in, but my country and currency settings were UK and GBP. I then added the SRAM goods to a wish list. At this point I did not know that I could not buy these items anymore. After making up my mind, I went back online to buy the items. This time fixing my country to SA, but keeping currency in GBP. Low and behold I could not view the SRAM goods anymore. This is when I read on The Hub of the change. I then went into my wishlist, and saw the items were still listed in there, and I then added it from my wishlist (there is a function to move the items from wishlist to cart). Success, they were added to my cart. Thinking that somewhere in the checkout process this oversight will be picked up, I continued through the checkout process and again, Success. Items were shipped and received. Hi there I am looking to buy a Giant Alight, but have been told they will only be in the country in January. A friend is going to be in the UK and I am wanting to buy a bicycle and get him to bring it back for me on his flight. I saw that there was a thread but it is a 2010 one, so I am hoping for more updated information. Can anyone assist me with info on the following: - What would the import duty be? In the previous post someone said there is no import duties on a whole bicycle? - My understanding is that I would also have to pay 14% VAT? - What is the process? Morning hubbers. My wife ordered me some clothing online for my bday coming up. She just messaged to say the post office slip states that it's arrived, but she has to pay 100% of what the items cost online. WTF?! The items are clothing. Has anyone had an experience like this? 100%? That's insane! Is there any way to contest this? Thanks in advance! Scrumpy
