  1. Yip, you heard right! Ellsworth, the legendary MTB brand from the states, is back in South Africa. ASG Sport has just signed on to become the official South African distributor of this awesome bike brand. Ellsworth Handcrafted means that you’ll get the absolute best bike possible – every bike is produced for our end users as if it is to be our own. They are designed and engineered in Southern California, and we use as much US manufacturing and domestically sourced material as we can. That said, it is sometimes necessary to employ the skills and know-how of others outside our borders because our true focus is always on the processes, procedures and materials. We’re constantly striving for the best blend of light weight, strength, and durability. We aim for the best handling and suspension efficiency. When you throw a leg over your Ellsworth bicycle, you can be 100% sure that we worked diligently to deliver the best ride possible. We have two models in stock at the moment, the Epiphany and the Enlightenment. EPIPHANY Epiphany 27.5 | Race/Cross-Country/Trail | 150mm Front/140mm Rear The Epiphany 27.5 will be the most well-used bike in your garage once you understand that it is as well suited on smooth, fast fire road climbs as it is in hyper-technical rock gardens. With equal parts efficiency and sure-footed capability, this is the one bike that you can ride most anywhere and be sure to have a damn good time. The fully-active ICT rear suspension is the key to the versatility of the carbon fiber Epiphany 27.5 across a wide range of trail conditions. Ellsworth’s ICT is the benchmark four-bar linkage design against which all others are judged. It successfully isolates pedal and braking forces from bump input through careful placement and movement of the instant center as it tracks the chain force line throughout the travel range. Paired with the custom-tuned Fox DPS rear shock, ICT delivers incredible traction and control throughout the 140mm of rear suspension travel. You’ll ride with more confidence and comfort, and you’ll know that every ounce of your energy goes into forward motion as you race down your favorite twisty trail. The Epiphany 27.5 employs a hassle-free, fully internal routing system to shield your hoses and cables from the elements, and a tapered head tube ensures strength and stability for your steering system. It takes a 34.9mm clamp-on front derailleur, a 30.9mm seatpost, and a Boost 12x148mm thru-axle rear hub. Complete bikes are available with Shimano XTR, XT, and SLX as well as SRAM XO1 build options. The frameset comes with a Cane Creek 1-1/8 – 1-1/2″ semi-integrated headset and a Shimano 12x148mm rear thru-axle. It is recommended for use with a 150mm front suspension fork. Ride and know. ENLIGHTENMENT Enlightenment 27.5 | Race/Cross-Country/Trail | 100mm Front Perhaps you felt your first mountain bike stoke on a hardtail like we did. And if you still have a special place in your heart for simplicity and brutal efficiency, the Enlightenment 27.5 is what you want. Light and fast is the name of this fun game. The carbon fiber Enlightenment 27.5 frame tickles the scales at 1182 grams for a size medium. It is absolutely light enough to build into a world-beating race rocket, yet sturdy enough for general trail use in rough terrain. The just-right blend of World Cup style nimble handling and stability has cemented its legacy, and this is what gives you the confidence to hammer through sinuous trails with short sightlines. Modern features include hassle-free, fully internal cable routing, tapered headtube, and BB92 pressfit bottom bracket shell. The Enlightenment 27.5 takes a high-direct mount front derailleur, a 31.6mm seatpost, and a 12x142mm thru-axle rear hub. Complete bikes are available with 1x and 2x build options. The frameset comes with a Cane Creek 1-1/8 – 1-1/2″ semi-integrated headset and a Shimano 12x142mm rear thru-axle. It is recommended for use with a 100mm front suspension fork. Seek and enjoy.
