  7. Louis Meintjes made South African cycling history when he became the highest South African finisher in the General Classification (GC) at this year’s Tour de France. The Lampre Merida rider finished the gruelling 21-day Tour in eighth place on the GC and was the second highest finisher in the Young Rider’s (White Jersey) Classification.   13. The 3rd and Queen stage of the Circuit la Sarthe saw a very active MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung team with Louis Meintjes and Merhawi Kudus both attacking the peloton during the course of the day.   18. The Circuit Cycliste Sarthe is a UCI 2.1 4 day, 5 stage cycle race in France. The race starts on Tuesday 7 April and Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung are happy to be starting this French stage race, our first tour on French soil this year. Click here to view the article

None other than South African president Jacob Zuma will be firing the start gun to signal the start of what is to be an iconic example of what can be achieved through unity in memory of Nelson Mandela.   20. With a bright and early start, the South African time trial championships took place around the Mbombela Stadium streets this morning.
