  1. Hey there, I'm thinking of cycling along the garden route next week, starting from Knysna to Port elizabeth. With the recent lockdown measures there has been much less traffic in cape town. Any knows if it's the same around those places? Thanks in advance !
  2. Hi, I'm looking to join a group that does longer rides on the weekends.I started riding in December 2016 so reckon im average fitness level I think. I Did my first 100km a week ago felt pretty good. I've been doing 50-65km rides since then on my own, so wondering if there are any like minded peeps wanting to join. I don't ride to race or for the fastest strava time so, if you're on the juice rather don't join. Thanks
  3. Hi Guys! I entered the 5150 NMB triathlon and recently bought a road bike. I want to ride on weekends (I live in PE but work in Uitenhage so training in the morning is a bit tough). Any beginners/average fitness cyclists out there wanting to join me? I'll probably park at Grass Roof and go from there. I am 23 and a female. Rouxle
  4. Hi Guys I am a 23 year old girl, a bit overweight so I set a goal of completing my first Olympic style triathlon in November (the 5150). Only been training for a week - swimming in the morning before work and running when I don't have evening class (which is over weekends). Anyway, I need to buy a road bike. I am in no rush as I can train on a mountain bike in the mean time. I'll be going to a recycle sport shop tomorrow and will report back here In the mean time - what do you think about https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/204788-merida-scultura-juliet-904-carbon-small/ I have been on gumtree as well: http://www.gumtree.co.za/a-sports-bicycles-fitness/port-elizabeth/fuji-altair-for-sale/1001757504980910412502409 http://www.gumtree.co.za/a-sports-bicycles-fitness/port-elizabeth/raleigh-tri6000/1001757164740910266163709 http://www.gumtree.co.za/a-sports-bicycles-fitness/port-elizabeth/road-bike-for-sale/1001699564350910444487609 Budget isn't really an issue but I'd prefer going second hand in case it's a one time thing (which I am hoping it's not) Thanks!
  5. A truly amazing track was set ablaze with racing here in PE by top riders from all over the country. The fourth round of the Stihl 2016 SA XCO Cup Series took place on 14 May and riders were able to experience the beauty of Baakens Valley while battling out for SA XCO National positions and Olympic qualification. P.E Races

Hi guys, My younger brother started varsity down in P.E. this year and coming from Durban, is not to sure of how the system is down there. In KZN we had ROAG to rely on for information of races and so on, but battling to find something similar down there. If any locals can add some events that happen, when where etc. that would be great. The events can range from XCO to Road to one day classic 40km type stuff. Thanks everyone
  8. Just received this promo mail. Looks like some fun. Both routes are challenging and fun (a bit of a sketchy finish though) Thoughts? http://www.redcherryadventures.co.za/events/bay2beach/
  9. Good day. I am trying to gauge the feasibility of building a Bike trailer for a couple of bikes to transport to events such as Triathlons, Ironman, Double Century, etc. 1) The question I have is what means of transporting of your bike is preferable? 2) What reason will make decide to rather send a Bike with someone else rather than hauling it yourself? 3) What type of service would you like from a transport company? Obviously Insurance will be on bikes when it gets transported... Needless info and reason for my question... Both my wife and I do Triathlons, as such we always have a heap of gear, thus the real issue is whether it is better to build a big enough trailer for several bikes or just for two bikes? Regards, Andre du Plessis

Kargo Pro MTB Team, South Africa's first ever UCI Trade Team, got their 2015 season off to the ideal start when they clinched three of the top four positions at the opening leg of the STIHL South African Mountain Biking Series in Port Elizabeth, paving the way for the rest of their cross country-focused season. 12. In order for Specialized to be represented across South Africa and Africa, it is important to have great partnerships with dealers around the country. The decision to team up with Action Cycles was an easy one. Garth Botha and his team run a very tight knit operation and we are proud to have them becoming an Elite Store. 13. The location of the 1st round of the XCO Cup Series 2015 on 28 February is slam-bam in the middle of Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. You’d be forgiven to think serious compromises were made to have this UCI Category 1 course in such a prime location, however at 4.7km and 170m total ascent and with some gnarly natural obstacles in place, the course is capable of delivering some big blows come race day.
