  1. I've only ever ridden MAXXIS tires. the rear has always been a Crossmark and never had issues. I recently changed to the Crossmark II 29 X 2.25. Initially it was perfect, but now it has developed a serious wobble after probably 12 - 15 rides, to a point where i thought my wheel was out of true. I put the wheel in my truing stand and there was some very minor adjustments that were made - check the rim for damage, bead groves all 100% remounted the tire with soapy water, made sure it was seated 100% using the ridge on the tire, no leaks - and it still has a serious wobble in fact its so bad if i ride downhill at speed on a smooth road i can feel it. when i check it in the truing stand with the tire mounted its out up to 15mm on one point. I've had tires with slight wobble before on a straight rim and not really an issue as its very slight, but this is like the rim is seriously buckled anyone else had this issue with MAXXIS.
  2. I installed a new SRAM GX 11 speed cassette about a month ago. Since then, I have been having issues with poor shifting. it's basically impossible to tune the shifter in a way that I get good shifts in the first 2 gears (i.e 42 and 36). It will always try and skip / click. I checked out the cassette and hub freebody to see if I could have screwed the cassette on wrong, but nope, everything is perfect, no misaligned threads or anything. One thing that I did notice, however, was that once the cassette is installed and I spin it, there is a noticeable wobble. Nothing is loose, but it kind of looks like the whole cassette dances on the hub. So this got me thinking, could it be that the cone (or whatever the cylinder in the middle of the cassette is called) that engages with the XD freebody is not straight? Anyone else experience something like this, or is this normal?
