  1. Hi guys, I have a friend who is doing the Argus this Sunday on a mountain bike. Will it be beneficial to change the tyres to slicks? Thanks!
  2. Hi to all currently I own shimano xt deore rims 29er and was wondering what is the thinnest tyre I can mount on the rim safely without worrying for it to slip off. Here's some info about my rims: http://www.competitivecyclist.com/shimano-deore-xt-wh-m785-wheelset-27.5in It says the rim's width is 23.4mm
  3. Looking for advice. Am doing a race in the Drakensberg end of April. Racing between 7 turn points dotted between Oliviershoek and Underberg over 3 days. The route I've plotted looks like roughly 200km on tar road, 140km on dirt road, 35km on Drakensberg footpaths (combo riding and pushing), 10km carrying bike. I have a choice between a dual suspensions MTB or a Cycloross. CX is 9.5kg and MTB 12kg. CX feels so much better on the road but 100km of corrigated dirt road is not lekker. Does one go for slick tyres of knobblies either which way?
