  1. Hey Hubland, So in my quest not to fall over at the side of the road somewhere along a ride I have decided to experiment more with ride snacks. There is nothing worse than bonking and you still have a looong way to go home, pride stops you from phoning the missus to tell her about multiple ficticious punctures (or you forgot your phone). If contributions could be made in respect of real food would be awesome, The Gels, goos, and magnificent energy farthest bar evers etc will not find a place in my jersey pockets, Why, cos they taste crap, some of the bars take 40 mins to eat and give you a sore jaw, Oh yes did i mention they taste crap? Nor am i partial to the massive amount of liquid potions that fill water bottles, if you get hungry these liquids dont hit the spot. Just have water. So have eaten nuts and raisins on my last ride (pretty good) maybe a bit boring, someone told me nuts are not so great for this purpose? I hear biltong is quite popular (cant quite put cycling and biltong together somehow) Im thinking, chicken mayo sandwich on woolies seed loaf for next ride. What say you guys, any ideas, gotta mix it up after all.
  2. Hi guys, hope youre all having an awesome sunday so far. Ive got a bit of a problem, after all intense/long rides i feel the need to go on ape on the fridge and pantry. I've noticed that its not always directly after the ride but later the day I VREEET!!! I always make sure ive eaten something(peanut butter sandwich/muffin with coffee) before a long ride, the more intense stuff early in the morning ill just have a cuppa. on the longer(100k+) rides ill have 2 bananas and a big bottle of USN pro enduro and a 500ml water. I also tend to start feeling "weeker" closer to the end of a ride, like I can stay in a specific zone but I cannot respond to any attacks/accelerations..die bal is pap! HELP!
