New To Road: Scott S20 vs Merida 904

Hi,

 

I'm new to road, been on MTB for some years now.

 

I want to ultimately do the 94.7 & Argus, not serious racing, more for the fun of it.

 

What would be a good bike for me, I'm looking at:

Why is the "similar" Merida more expensive than the Scott?

 

Any other suggestions in the R10k range?
