XT Compatibility

Hey guys. I need to replace my XT chainrings and cassette but was thinking with it being quite a pricey exercise why not upgrade to the new 2 x 10 XT drive train. Some questions that I would like you guys to help me out with before I pop into the LBS:

 

1 - are any of the components compatible?

2 - What Price Range am I looking at roughly?

3 - Is any one currently riding the new gruppo and can they give me some info on the quality and ride etc?
