Riding with a protective jock-strap / ball box?

This is another guy's question but i have been wondering the same thing.. any feedback or thoughs guys?

So I was riding a medium difficulty trail this weekend and took a few jumps. After watching the videos I realized if I had not fallen off of my first jump, my nuts would have been pancakes. So, I thought about buying the hard cased protective cups for mountain bikers which I would like to try. I did read an argument that the softer jock strap was better than the harder one but was unsure why. I'm thinking if I slammed my boys into my bike I would want the hard case to protect them.

Can anyone tell me if they ride with the hard cased protective and how the riding has been (while on a rough trail)?

Sorry in advance for this question but much like Samson's hair, my nuts are my source of power.....
