Tour de France 2012

I plan to follow the Tour by camper this year. Starting in the UK,Leaving London about the 28th of June, arriving in Leige, Belgium, for the first stage (30th June).

 

From there, the plan is not to have a plan, to go to whichever stage we decide to watch next! Maybe we'll watch them all, maybe watch two or three flat stages and wait in the mountains. If we don't plan anything, nothing can go wrong!

 

The camper is old, but runs well (slowly); it can sleep four, theoretically, but two in reality. I have a four sleeper tent also, which is easy to pitch, so two in the tent and two in the camper. It has a stove and fridge and a porta loo, just in case, as well as cutlery and crockery - and a TV (non satellite) and central heating.

 

It'll be fully serviced, licensed, insured etc.for the trip.

 

I'm thinking of charging €50 per day.

This includes the camper accommodation (licence, insurance etc)

All travelling

 

But excludes:

All your costs trip, visas etc to and from anywhere.

Fuel costs, I'll expect a pro rata contribution at fueling time

Food, camping fees etc., this will be pro rata also.

 

In other words, you pay for the use of the camper (accommodation and Travel) only, all other costs are shared (pro rata) with whomever comes along.

 

It would be great if you had an International Drivers Licence also, would help with the driving.

 

If any one is interested, I'd obviously prefer you to come for the full tour (I want to watch the Olympic road race at end of July), but I'm happy to consider even those who want to accompany us for a week. Let's see where this goes.

Sorry a little off topic but would it be worth going to Paris to watch the final day? My wife and I are traveling to Spain in July and would like to travel a bit in Europe for 2 or so weeks and it works out that we could watch the final day of the Tour.

 

Could anyone recommend we watch the final day if it is possible?
