I DID THE 20KM ON SUNDAY, THIS WAS THE HARDEST 20KM I HAVE EVER DONE IN 15 YEARS OF MOUNTAIN BIKING. THE VENUE WAS GREAT BUT THE COURSE LAYOUT VERY DIFFICULT - SPOKE TO A FIRST TIMER AFTER THE RACE AND HE WAS PUT OFF. MANY MATES WHO DID THE 40KM BOMBED. NO WATER POINTS ON THE 40KM LOOP.

This was my first event and by the end of it realised i had bitten off more than i could chew. What a tough event.

Who else did teh event and what were your thoughts??

I thought there were way too many hills, especially for a novice like myself who struggled from teh 23km mark. There must have been at least half the course that was merely climbing. Im proud i finished albeit in a time of 3h33min.

I was completely drained....i wont be doing that event again thats for sure. It was teh most gruelling thing i've ever experienced lol

your mates have to of bombed to not see the water points? There was 3 if im not mistaken - alot for only 40km!

It was my first time doing this race and I must admit it was really tough - more rocky then technical, but agreed worse off for any first timer to handle. The decents were even tough being hell of a rocky and the bumpiest i have ever encountered.

But come on were out there for the tough stuff - the climbing could def decrease though! alot of grinding on up.

I'll be back next year for more though!

Also did the 20km race, this has to have been the most hectic race todate, it seemed like there was more up than down. This being my 3rd race ever almost put me off riding.

 

To top it off I did not get any offcial results posted, pretty bleek about that. Even after emailing elite timing to find out if they made a mistake and not getting any response from them.
