Top Clamp FD on Anthem1 2008

Does anyone know if you would be able to use a top clamp FD on a Anthem1 2008 model. It seems that there is enough space to do this but I want to make sure.

 

Currently it has a bottom clamp, but I can see that the suspension does touch it when it comes up.

 

I am also changing the crank to 2 x 10 and thus the FD will have to sit lower as the big ring is going from 44 to 42....hence my question....should I not rather go top clamp to leave a bit more room to move the FD down?
