29er - Scott 940 vs Giant XTC 1 vs Merida XT

Some help & advice please

Looking to upgrade my 26" Merida Matts Lite 1000 to a 29er....which of the following three would be the best to upgrade to and which LBS should I look at?

 

Scott 940 vs Giant XTC 1 vs Merida XT

 

Budget of R15 000

When I shopped around, neither the Merida XT or the Scott 940 was withing the 15K budget... It may have been because they just came out then and prices have since tamed, but just saying... (Both were touching 17, fwiw)

I have the Scott Scale 940 and love the bike. Got it for R15200. (got it about a month ago)

 

I think the Merida does come with more though as I believe it has full xt and the Scott XT and SLX components.

Not to sure about the Giant.

I have the 2013 Scott Scale 940, and love it!

 

Good spec, and great looking bike.

 

Paid R16k for it.....

Thanks guys, still trying to sell the 26er but I am leaning towards the Scott, looks like an awesome ride.

The merida is a 2012 and the Scott is 2013....now just have to hope someone wants my 26er.
