Thanks, now to find an emery wheel

So after running the 1x front chainring on the outside of the crank spider, I've realised that shifting up to the biggest gear (36T) in the back results in some crazy cross chain unhappiness. I removed the chainguide once more and found that what I thought were just washers that are supposed to be there, are in fact 2mm spacers that push the top and bottom guide away from the inside. I removed these spacers and that freed up some space. Removed the chainring off the outside of the crank spider and put it back on the inside (where the middle ring should go) and refitted the crank. Almost had enough clearance between the chain guide adapter and the suspension linkage. Removed the chain guide and adapter once more, filed the top screw (that goes from through the chain guide holes to the adapter) down to flush with the back of the adapter, and

HEY PRESTO! It all fits! You gain enough space on the inside to push the guide further in. Yay!

so to recap - you CAN fit a csixx 110 chain guide onto a pressfit BB frame (like the Giant Reign 2012) and run a 1x10 setup with the chain ring in the middle position of the crank. You just need to apply some elbow grease with a file to the adapter and the top screw that goes into the adapter.

So SIR Maxxis, thanks for the offer of help, but I'll have to swop that for an offer to go for a ride instead
