Table View - Durbanville commute alternative

With the current road works on Koeberg / Blouberg I need to source an alternative commute from Table View / Parklands area to Durbanville. The old commute is no longer safe as there is no shoulder on the last section of Blouberg nor on Koeberg. Both roads have temporary (narrow) vehicle lanes and the cycle path on Blouberg is not yet finished.

 

I regularly walk my dogs on the new Sunningdale extention to Vissershok and it seems like they are making good progress here. I have also noticed quite a few that take the shortcut from Sunningdale to Vissershok on foot and on their bikes. Are there any hubbers that are doing this? I am concerned with passing so close to Dunoon on a road that is not open for the public yet. The contractor does not seem too bothered by this, but I may just give Brink & Heath a call to check with them whether they are ok with this.

 

Are any hubbers using this shortcut and what are their take on things like safety etc?

G - one of our friends was mugged on the Sunningdale extension,. Knocked off his bike and hurt and cell, wallet and bike taken.
