The PwC Great Zuurberg Trek is a three-day mountain bike race in the Zuurberg mountains, which includes the national cross country course at Hayterdale. I was privileged enough to join a small group of invitees on a dry run of the Queen stage this weekend and was astounded for more than one reason. Firstly, the huge drop (not unlike sani2c's Umkomaas) on a horse trail into the valley and, secondly, the climb out of it (which made me think of my one and only Epic). Word is that stages one and three are all about fun. Stage two, in my opinion, balances that out and is not for the faint-hearted! Check out from last year's event.
