In December 2013 THE ”I CARE ” expedition was launched and planning was set in motion to put a two man team on mountain bikes and send them around South Africa to all 9 provinces, the purpose of this trip is to go into schools and communities and do some extreme conservation awareness work and at the same time attempt to find a generation of kids that truly care about what is happening to their heritage and some way bridge the gap between impoverished communities and the Nature Reserves that they surround.

We are happy to announce that we have managed to secure the bikes and equipment for this trip, training is in an advanced stage and the departure date has been set at 02/08/14.The route for the 1st leg to Cape Town has been plotted, we will depart from Hoedspruit which is the epicentre of conservation in South Africa.

Rob Grinham & Adina Bjorck will climb onto Merida big 7 lites (hard tails) complete with panniers loaded with all their equipment. Both riders have committed the next 9 months to this expedition, they both have extensive knowledge in conservation and we believe that they are capable of completing the mission .

We are calling on the cycling fraternity of South Africa to help out where possible, even if it’s just a patch of lawn for the team to pitch their tents for a night or two, possibly there are members of the forum that would like us to address Schools in their community? To keep the wheels turning we have given them a PickNpay gift card no 6000013139817612 that donations can be made to help them feed themselves, this is done in store.
