Mountain Bike Orienteering is an orienteering sport on a Mountain Bike where navigation is done along trails and tracks, using a map to navigate between various control points.

 

 

Riders choose their own routes between points.

 

Registration: 08h30 to 09h30

Starts (time trial starts at 2-min intervals) 09h00 to 10h00

Courses close & Prize giving: 11h30

 

 

Three different courses for varying physical and technical MTB abilities:

- Long Course: approx 18km, 1h15 winning time, technical tracks

- Medium Course: approx 12km, 1h winning time, moderate riding

- Short Course: approx 7km, 40 min winning time, easy roads and paths

 

Groenkloof Reserve: scale 1:15 000, 3m contour intervals. The road and path network are drawn to the International MTB-Orienteering specification.
