Hi there guys. I've just started mountain biking and looking to join a league. What is the process to registering to get a season number.. Any advise is helpfull

No real leagues except for XCO that has a few events. I suggest you pay for a CSA license and then nearly every weekend there will be a race that you can compete in. As your results improve you will be seeded better for the next race etc.

There is no secret societies to join - except maybe for THEHUB MAFIA (but you need at least 1000 posts).... Cycling is pretty much an open sport. If you are looking at a club, approach your LBS, they will direct you. Regarding a license number - pay CSA for either a racing number or a plain cycling license. You don't have to belong to a club to be doing events.
