Brawler Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Get a Trance 2 for 24k and spend the rest on a Pike and new wheels and you will be sorted. At 130KG you will need really good, strong and wide wheels such as Stans Flow EX. About R2700 for the rims and labour alone. WIll be about R5000 if you want to add decent hubs as well (Novatec). Then fork... A trail bike has about 140mm travel. Most bikes in this price range come with 32mm forks which are super flexy. At 130KG they will be noodles. A 35mm Pike will not only stiffen the front up but also provide MUCH better suspension for someone of your weight. So ya, my vote trance + pike + aftermarket wheels. The Reign is great to out the box (comes with pike and AM wheels) but its definitely more of a enduro / downhill orientated bike. Would never use mine for XC.
