Due to the spate of armed roberries that's taken place, especially in Tokai Forest, a move towards a possible solution is needed.

On reading through Tygerberg Mountain Bike Club's post, an idea to utilise fixed 'CCTV' type cameras sprung to mind. Would placing these camera's at various criminal activity hotspots, make some sort of dent into these criminal attacks? Will it immediately and completely eliminate these attacks? I don't think so. In my opinion it may assist in the apprehension and conviction of these criminals.

The incident, some months ago, of the mountain biker that was robbed at gunpoint, is the basis of my opinion. If he never wore the video camera unit (GoPro), would the perpetrators have been identified, apprehended, later found guilty and each issued with lengthy sentences? I seriously doubt it. When these camera's are located as initially suggested. The possible outcome could be fewer criminals in our playground, fewer victims and as a byproduct "excellent" selfies of those Mast summits.
