Schwinn Peleton Pro 2008 Review

i got this bike as a team bike and i thought i should just give a quick review for those looking into buying a new road bike of that range...

 

At a first glance, the peleton pro stands out at you as a very beautiful bike, but don't let that deceive you... the real beauty is in the ride. it has a very, very short wheel base which results in quick acceleration and brilliant sprinting snappiness. The bike is kitted out with full ultegra sl, not sram rival as advertised, but it is only 100g heavier then dura-ace:), and shifting/braking is perfect. The only this i don't like is that it comes standard with mavic askuim wheelset and this make for good training wheels, but not suitable for hard racing... it is a very light bike!! it is ideal for climbing and technical descents, but on the long straights it struggles a bit. it comes kitted out with Fizik Arione Saddle, which is very, very attractive...

 

It retails in SA for about R18 000... and was recently featured in  Bicycling
