eccc whippet Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Looks like the garmin edge 500 series is the route to go...by the time i have purchased and fitted bluetooth sensors...bike mount etc...i am already down the crapper for around R3000...as mentioned then there is still battery life to consider...etc etc. A mate just bought the 510 bundle for R4200 brand new...nice and compact complete with bike mount and all the sensors.

Syncs with Wahoo Cadence and Speed sensor and HR monitor. 6 hours no probems. Been using it for over 2 years and 20000kms. Can also use Strava, MapMy Ride, and Garmin apps. The big bonus was getting a Quadlock cover and handlebar mount. Comes with rainproof "poncho" cover too. Cost me R999 but with new iPhone 6 out, you can get them for about R600 now, Well worth it as it is a great cover too.
