Mountain Bike Orienteering – more commonly referred to as MTBO – is a discipline of orienteering. Instead of running around on foot, competitors riding mountain bikes use a map to navigate from point-to-point. Routes must be navigated along trails and tracks as riders are not permitted to leave the track network.

 

Registration 08h00 to 09h00

“Time-trial” style starts at 2 minute intervals from 08h30 to 09h30

Race briefing at 8:30.

Course close and Prize giving at around 12h00

 

Maps are provided by the organiser at the start line.

 

3 courses available:

 

Long – approximately 20-23 kms, winning time about 80 minutes (Cost: R110)

Medium – approximately 16-18 kms, winning time about 50 minutes (Cost: R100)

Short – approximately 10-12 kms, winning time about 30 minutes (Cost: R80)
