Riding in the Valley of 1000 Hills is usually restricted by being inaccessible and inhospitable for riders without adequate logistical support. With an experienced crew and suitable support vehicle Detour Trails Day Adventures makes the unusual & spectacular Valley trails accessible.

 

at 18th June - BISHOPSTOWE – MFULA (via The Mother) – approx 60km

 

Whenever the Mother is mentioned, riders will know that there’s at least one huge climb with max gradient of 25%, so this is not an easy ride. The route starts by following the Duzi River, diverts away joining the Umgeni which it follows upstream for a while before the climb to the Mother (yes, a climb to a climb!). Once at the top of this beastly climb, the rewards are many. The 360 view is unsurpassed anywhere else in the valley and the descent is enough to bring a smile to any fun loving enduro rider. This is for the marathon and expedition riders to test their fitness.
