Sounds exactly the same modus operandi as one week earlier at my garage where one of two Mongoose salvo comp was stolen in Oranjezicht.

Got a replacement bike 6 weeks later and had another break in -same style, same time - within 3 days.

Luckily nothing taken as I do not keep bikes in the garage any longer.

Someone is evidently specialising in opening of barrel locks. Happy to trade info/photos of damaged locks with you to compare and possibly create link at SAPS

Hey there, thanks for letting me know. Seems there is an operation happening of some kind, cause on that same day the broke into my neighbours and a few others in the area. All the same way of breaking the barrel lock at the loop.

 

Yeah, from now on I will bring the bike into my apartment. Luckily insurance was quick to settle.
