Event Name: WeBenefit 99er Cycle Tour 2018
When: 10 February 2018
Where: Durbanville Race Course, Western Cape
Category: Road

The We Benefit 99er Cycle Tour is an Official Premier Seeding event for The Cape Town Cycle Tour and is the third largest cycle race in the Western Cape.

In February 2018 the 99er takes place for the 20th time! We have come a long way since our humble beginnings in 1999! Those were the days when the race started and finished at El Shaddai Christian School! Over the years we have had rainy races, sunny races and windy races but each race has had a wonderful atmosphere and has been well supported! We extend a big thank you to each and every rider who has participated in the 99er over the past 19 years!

The race is organized and hosted by the El Shaddai Christian School in Durbanville and the event is the main fund raising activity for the school. There are over 350 volunteers in the form of parents, staff, pupils, alumni and past parents involved on race day. In 2017, close to R50 000 was donated to the charities supported by the The 99er Cycle Tour.

  • The route on the N7 will be manned by Provincial Traffic. To ensure a safe passage for all 99er cyclists, vehicular traffic on the N7 will be slowed down and routed to use the right hand lane as far as possible. For safety reasons, cyclists must keep left inside the yellow lane.
  • Road closure on Vissershok Road (M48) has officially been applied for.
