Ironman 2018: foreign visitor / training group or partner / safe routes

Someone from our local training group is doing the SA 70.3 Ironman in September. (French, but living for many years in Malaysia now.)

 

With the incidents the last couple of years around the time of Ironman in PE (rare, but still reality) I told him I would rather ask here - can someone share 'safer' Strava training routes in the region please? Or even better - anyone else also looking for a group to taper with during the week before the event?

 

He will be staying in Summerstrand for the ~week before the event and also have a rental car available. Perfect English, very strong athlete and a solid/pleasant person to be around with.

 

I would really appreciate if someone can help me/him out here please.

OK, he is sorted - the organisers released a schedule where there will be a route recce every day.
