MudLark Posted May 16, 2019 Posted May 16, 2019 Guys, has anyone tried combining Shimano MTB calipers with hydraulic road shifters? I have an MTB with M425 brakeset on it and I want to put on a pair of the hydraulic Tiagra (flow down from Ultegra) dual control levers. I know the answers on the gear shifts. I'm trying to figure out brake system compatibility. The M425 is a two pot system as I have it and the Tiagra is as well. I've been told by my LBS that it won't work because of different system pressures. But the bike already has the MTB high pressure hoses on, so I'm not seeing the problem. Any ideas?
