Please post if you have any details on the wear abouts for the 7 cyclists riding with Wimpie Van Der Merwe.

 

Last update was posted on Facebook at 14h30 for Ladysmith.

 

That's close on 12 Hours back!

Update from Oudtshoorn Police Station.

 

Riders might have Left Oudtshoorn at 01h30, now for Hartenbos.

 

Praying all are Safe and just very tired.

Awesome news, thanks for letting us know they all safe. Did they make the distance though? That is my other question. 1000km is a helluva achievement. Hats off to them for even trying it.

Hello Friedpiggy and Friends

 

This issue developed as everyone was arriving at the Half Way mark, Hartenbos.

 

I had departed from the Start early due to my own work schedule, 17hours before the Bunch.

 

I was keeping tabs on the Bunch's progress, but there last update was for 15h00 on Saturday afternoon.

 

By 18h00 I arrived at the Half Way mark and tried to Check on their progress nowing they should still be riding.

I decided to try and join for the Return, as I was not feeling strong.

 

I contacted the last two Town police station to try and gather where they had got to.

 

Only around 02h00 whilst waiting at the Half Way mark in Hartenbos petrol station did their back up lady drive past seeing and notice that a cyclist (me) was hanging around and approached me.

 

Only 2 riders decided to get ready and depart on further with me joining them.

 

We left at around 04h30.

 

Just finished a Snack in Oudtshoorn, onto Calitzdorp and further.

Hello Everyone

 

I have been informed that another one or two riders have also continued on their own.

 

Wimpie and one friend is pushing the speeds due to possible bad weather approaching.

 

I dropped my speed as my Knee is giving me trouble.

Will see if I can join up with the two late riders on route.
