Hi -

I am hoping that somebody could possibly shed some light on a "creaky" bike - I recently acquired a Merida TFS 500 D, which has developed an annoying "creaking" noise after a couple hours of riding. Riding is varied from single track /jeep and then other tracks that we come across.

The creak sounds as if it is coming from the lowest pivot point, but I have not been able to pin point it. As I am still some what hesitant to dis-mantle the suspension /swing arm section - the bike as already been passed the local LBS, been serviced and the creak is now back again - its something I would like to resolve on my own without having to visit the LBS on a regular basis

Thanks for the prompt reply -

should I be using a torque wrench of sorts to check the bolts? How tight should these be? Cleaning is done, by hand - after every ride...
