Garmin Mounts

My mount started looking like this before I replaced it:

 

All of the load from the cable ties is transferred through the two arms of the cross-piece in the top half of the mount. The four cable tie slots in the bottom half play no significant role carrying the load.

 

On the replacement I've epoxied the top part to the bottom part. This should solve the problem by spreading the load across all six cable tie contact points.
