I wanted to get your views re cycling (MTB) in the Kei area. We’ve seen tours being offered, but thought about taking our bikes for a few unguided rides in the Mdumbi area, preferably on the tracks/pathways along the coast. Our concern is re the safety aspect. It’s just myself and wife and I’ve read and heard a few not-so-great things re unsavoury characters hanging around and breaking into cars, etc.

There’s not much info on the web wrt people’s experiences, so I was hoping some of you could give us a view. My main aim is the surf, so we don’t want to take the bikes if we’re not really going to use them, especially since we’re going via Sani and the rack has already once eaten the paint off my fairly new car on bad roads.
