Does anyone know if it would make a difference or be unsafe to use a road carbon stem on a mountain bike?

 

 

 

I bought a new handle bar and want to fit my road carbon stem to my mountain bike at it will fit better.

 

 

 

The only difference between the 2 is that the old one is Alu, and has 4 bolts to tighten it and the carbon one has only 2 bolts.
