Getting Started

Hi,

 

I've recently decided to buy me a MTB. Wanna start exploring the forests again.

 

I need some advice what MTBs are good for starters. My budget is about 3.5k. I'm probably looking at buying a second hand bike, so what should I look out for, specs, etc ?

for that money buy yourself a 2nd hand Merida TFS500 hard tail. This is a good value for money MTB - I have got 2 of them and have had no hassels

For that price 2nd hand is definetly the best option, but I think you'll struggle to find anything like a TFS500D for that price. Ideally in that bracket, a Silverback Alphine 2008, Raleigh Namib or similar. If you see a disk brake bike in and around 3.5-4K take it and run.

I would go for the Merida or  even a G.T avalanche
