Pedal thread size?????

Bought a Schwinn spinning bike a wile ago and noticed that my Shimano SPD pedals won't fit??

 

On closer inspection it seems that the pedal thread (spelling??) size of the spinner is smaller than the SPD pedals.

 

What to do?

 

Can I just drill the holes bigger and re-thread them??? Will there be other pedals(cleat pedals) that will fit?Confused

 

It is a marginal size diff, maybe 1-1.5mm?

 

PLS HELP!!!Embarrassed
