Help from a bike builder

OK, so I'v finshed my build except for one thing!

 

 

 

I have a 'star nut' top cap to seal off the steerer tube and compress the whole assembly.

 

 

 

The nut is obviously a little bigger than the steerer tube, so how do i get the star nut into the tube??

 

 

 

Just hit it down???

The easiest way is to take a screw driver that is small enough to fit in to the hole that the bolt screws into and just knock it in. It is quite easy to see if the star nut is going in straight aswell

Yeah, if you are concerned about the threads, I normally screw the bolt in there and knock that in. Goes in very easy

Go and look here...... It is a Start Nut Driver or setting tool, it would be easy to make someting like this yourself.
