  1. It's not everyday that we as South Africans can boast about good levels of customer service... this is sad but it's a reality. So, when it does happen we tend to be surprised and want to tell everyone about it! So this is what I want to do: I had to take my and my wife's road bikes for a service last week Thursday as we decided (a bit belatedly) to enter a quick 52km race on Saturday. We then flipped a coin to see who will do us the honors and fate decided that it should be Fritz Pinaar cycles in Brooklyn PTA. My wife dropped off the bikes on Thursday morning and lo-and-behold our bikes where ready on Friday afternoon! This is good service in my opinion but it's not where it stops... We arrived at their shop at 16:30 and being the newbs we are asked them if they could help us with setup... BOTH of us... 1 hour before their shop closes on a friday! A young man by the name of Wicus gladly obliged and did a thorough setup on both our bikes explaining in great detail what he is doing and giving us service and ride pointers as he went along. Having bought second hand bikes I was ready to spend a fortune on service, setup & worn out parts when I walked through the doors but Wicus actually tried his very best to keep me from spending money! How weird is that!? Long story a bit shorter at six 'o clock my wife left the shop while me & Wicus (who should have been home by now) changed the tires on my bike... Eventually we loaded the bikes on the hitch of my car and as I slammed by boot shut I realized I had just locked my car keys in the boot! I then phoned my wife to go fetch my spare keys from home (which is on the other side of Pretoria). I insisted that Wicus should lock up his shop and go home but he refused to leave me outside as he was afraid we might have left the keys in the shop somewhere... He waited with me and not for a moment seemed irritated or agitated with the situation. In fact, he kept on exchanging valuable "noob-food info" the entire time... The amazing part about all this is that: - he never met me - I didn't buy my bike from him - I didn't spend a fortune in his shop - It was my own numb-nut fault to lock my keys in. I'm a person who value service. Wicus from Fritz Pienaar obviously also have the same values... My hat is still off to him and the shop. Well done good sir! JuriAbbott2009-11-02 06:39:17
