First post so hi to every one, I have been lurking and learning for awhile I need to give some input here, my dad was a cop yes he is retired now. Do you guys know how it feels to know your dad might be shot while performing his duty to uphold the law. Ok back to what I wanted to discuss.
I have to ask myself the question why didn't he stop when he saw the flashing blue lights or at least slow down enough to communicate with them and tell them he will drive to the Police station.....
Also why is everyone up in arms about Art 49, have you taken a look at the amount of police officers killed in the line of duty visit the Police memorial and go and check how many have died in the line of duty there.... I feel it is right to bring back the law that gives them the right to shoot if their lives are in danger.
I don't condone the loss of a innocent live not at all and if the guys in blue was wrong and it does seem they acted over hastily then prosecute them for the same crime you would a criminal...
But have the laws in place for a lawful shooting so that the Police Officer don't have to doubt should he shoot or not and if he did indeed pull the trigger will he be prosecuted for murder if it was within the law and his right to shoot.
